ALBI

We will be basing ourselves in the stunning UNESCO town of Albi.  Albi is home to the Toulouse Lautrec Museum and is historically known for it's Cathar heritage.  The town is a great place to base ourselves, with plenty of cafes, restaurants and historic areas to visit.  Albi also played host to the 2015 CycloTourisme festival with over 15000 cyclists riding around the area for a week, and is obviously the host of the 2017 Grand Fondo World Finals (formerly Wold Masters Championships).

From here our rides will take us through the rolling hills and vineyards of France's oldest wine area, past walled cities and sun-flower fields.

You will get to pre-ride the road race course and the Time Trial course, while also discovering a little more of the area and having time to get ready for yuor big event.

Should you choose to come to Albi but fail to qualify for the GranFondo Final, do not fret, there is plenty to do and many awesome rides to make this the trip of a lifetime.

TARN

The "Tarn" is the department of France in the Midi Pyrenees Region of which Albi is the capital city.  The Tarn is our home!  You are extremely lucky for this event because CMI Tours is based in the Tarn, our main guide and trip designer Simeon Green was born in Albi and has lived here for the majority of his life.  He went to Primary school in Albi, and went to Univercity in Albi.  As it turns out, he is also the Tarn Champion for the 2nd year running and has been Midi Pyrenees champion twice in his cycling career.  To say we know Albi and the Tarn like the back of our hand is something of an understatement.

Furthermore, the GranFondo Final circuit is one of our most common training loops as well as being the flagship ride on our standart "Tarn Trips".  We know the course well and Simeon will be able to advise you expertly on the course in preparation for your event.

The Time Trial course is but a few hundred meters from our house and is once again a course we ride on a daily basis.

Add to this the fact that Simeon has been racing internationally for over 15 years and you couldn't be in better hands for your GranFondo World Championship event!

OUR RIDES

Rides will vary from 50 - 130km with varied terrain.  You will have the opotunity to ride the Road and Time-Trial courses for the event so as to familiarise yourself with the roads and climbs.

You will need to qualify for the Granfondo World Final via one of the accedited UCI GranFondo qualifying events.
